Another Free eMusic Sampler: Daytrotter

Daytrotter is definitely one of my favorite music blogs on the net. They have a great site, great art, and continously posts live tracks for free. What more can you ask for?? How about a free eMusic Sampler of their music?

While everyone in the world is debating how much they will pay for Radiohead's new LP, eMusic has your indie music covered with an exclusive free sampler from Daytrotter, a music blog who has set up their own studio for live sessions. Daytrotter Sessions, Volume 1 features recordings from acts like Voxtrot and Of Montreal and will be available at eMusic, free of charge.

"They approached us with the idea," says Datrotter founder Sean Moeller. "It seemed like a cool thing to do and we felt we could build a little more recognition for the site with a new group of people that may or may not know we exist."

Daytrotter's extensive collection of free downloads range from interviews to live cuts, where the list of new material and bands expands regularly. "There are a lot of people out there who would love what Daytrotter's about who don't know we exist unfortunately," says Moeller. The sampler is to be the first volume of their collaboration with eMusic—new sessions will be available every month.

"We like their taste," eMusic's director of merchandising Yancey Strickler adds. "It's just a couple of guys with good curatorial skills. There's an honesty and sincerity in what they do that we think matches us."
