R.E.M covers Lennon for Darfur

Amnesty International has been a passion of mine since my days at BGSU, as VP of the campus chapter. I'm also really impressed the way they use music to get the message out with their Make Some Noise campaign.

If you haven't already heard, there's a 2 disc album of Lennon Covers called Instant Karma where proceeds are being used in the campaign to help save Darfur. You can read about it and see the track listing over at Pitchfork.

It's not out until June 12, but you can download R.E.M.'s cover of #9 Dream right now. And this recording even has Bill Berry back on drums for the first time since his retirement in 1997!
