New Chris Pureka Album & Upcoming Show at BST!

If you haven't yet heard of Chris Pureka, check her out. She has the voice and song writing skills of a long-time veteran singer/songwriter. I've seen her in concert (review to come) and she sounds even better live. It's been a while since releasing her last album, so I'm VERY excited to see she has a new one coming out. And even more excited to see she's coming back to the Spider on October 15th!

Here's some news on the album straight from Chris:
It's been a little while - so here is the latest. I have been in the studio working on my new album, Dryland which will be out in the fall. I am working with the same sound engineer from Driving North, Mark Alan Miller, but he has moved his studio to a beautiful, brand new space. I will be putting up studio pictures on the myspace page in the upcoming weeks. You'll recognize some of the musicians from the last record - Sebastian Renfield in addition to adding his musical stylings, is once again helping me produce. Harmony diva, Merrill Garbus came in to do vocals and play fiddle. And there are a whole lot of new musicians making appearances. David "Goody" Goodrich, best known for playing with and producing Peter Mulvey, came in and laid down some guitar tracks. Lyndell Montgomery (of the Ember Swift Band) added bass and fiddle. Allison Miller (who is best known for playing with Natalie Merchant) came in to play drums on a few tunes. And I borrowed the fabulous upright bassist (Andy Rice) and drummer (Reed Chambers) from the Jason Spooner trio. Overall recording is going really well. CD release dates are already up on the website and the album will be available at live shows and on CDBaby.com at the end of September.
We are currently booking a National CD Release Tour for October and November - I will be hitting up most regions - the Northeast, the Midwest, the West coast and the Southeast. If you have suggestions of venues or would like me to play in your town or at your college, please contact booking@fauxpasproductions.com and let us know.
