Download Arctic Monkeys Live at 9:30 Club

Thanks to a last minute tip by Pitchfork, I was able to catch (& capture) the Arctic Monkeys show last night. NPR was broadcasting live from the 9:30 Club in Washington DC (also where I had the rare opportunity to see Robbie Williams!). :) Love those Brits.

Anyway, you can catch the Pitchfork Article here.
You can read the NPR article here. NPR's All Songs Considered will be Podcasting 4 or 5 of the songs from the show, which are to be handpicked by the band.

I've also captured the whole show. You can download it here (74MB - MP3).
(this may not be up long, so get it while you can)

Unfortunately, I didn't realize that the interview portion of the broadcast started at 9:30, so I caught about 15 minutes of interview before the show... as well as the blah commentary by the NPR host who was at the show and trying to fill dead-air time waiting for the band to come on.

I wasn't able to listen to the entire show because 24 was on last night. But a couple interesting things I did catch... The Arctic Monkeys don't do encores! Pretentious? Maybe... Defying an overused and under appreciated ritual? Probably. I'd love to see bands get back to a time when they only came back out when they were SO good that the crowd demanded it. But I guess general consideration is nice too.

They also announced that the photos from the show would be on their Flickr page (which you'll see they're not now). They were there last night and I caught a screen capture, though now I wish I would have grabbed the full-size images (probably why they took them down). You can still see some of the shots at NPR's page. They are some great shots by a photographer named King Pin Photography which has some great music photos on their page (who I'm crediting for the above photo).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the show. This is my first chance to share what I've been able to capture using Audio Hijack Pro!
