It may not seem like it...

... but I'm not going anywhere. In fact, I just renewed this domain name for 3 more years. Post holidays, Atlanta road trip, house redecoration, bad-sweater party... ugh, I'm finally getting caught up with life. That coupled with the anticipation of Apple's iWeb application (w/ blog software), has just given me every reason in the book to postpone writing here. Besides, I think I'm now like 4 months behind on shows.

But with so much on the horizon, things are just about to pick up. I now own Apple's iWeb. I have never seen it so easy to make a website & blog. Though with what little time I spent with it, I think I'm going to remain with iBlog for some time now. I just don't think that iWeb has all the features that this currently has. Though I am going to be moving all my photo albums and such over to iWeb. (damn, enough with the i's already.)

Just to catch up on a couple things... I'm debating tonight whether to see the Aimee Mann show at the Odeon, or the early show at the Grog Shop (The Honorary Title / Limbeck / Koufax / Jeff Klein). Hmmm...

I also wanted to share that Naomi Sommers has some new tracks up on her MySpace site. "New Year's Day" and "Why Couldn't I". Please check her out... I think I have to rank her as one of my top favorite female singer/songwriters, and probably top in the unsigned category. Here's some info from her email newsletter...

The two new songs are "New Year's Day" and "Why Couldn't I?" I wrote both within the last year and recorded them one evening in November (2005) with my favorite accompanist, Noam Weinstein. He'd never heard the songs until a few minutes before the tape was rolling (well that's a figure of speech since it's all digital now, but seconds were moving by in a rolling fashion). He plays lead guitar on one song and piano on the other. How did Noam get to be such an incredible, intuitive usician? He listens for a few moments and starts to feel something, and has the skill to play it. It is always so exciting and inventive and adds just the right touch. Noam, Noam, Noam...

I'm also very excited about doing much more playing in the spring, summer and the years beyond with Lisa Bastoni as the Gray Sky Girls. We have two shows in Cambridge in May. The first is on May 6th at the Nameless Coffeehouse. We'll also have a set during Club Passim's Memorial Weekend Campfire Festival, details to come.

I'm checking out Lisa Bastoni right now and I like what I hear. I'd be excited to see Grey Sky Girls, but I really hope to get to see Naomi on her own first.
