New Death Cab Song & Martha Wainwright Video

Sightings and sounds of the new Death Cab for Cutie album are appearing. You can hear their new track "Soul Meets Body" at their MySpace site (of course), but you can also check it out below. I think it sounds great and I'm excited about the new album.

And then Scenestars also has a review of their album. Well, it's not so much of a review, but more of a rant about declaring musicians as sell-outs when they sign with a major label, even though their music improves. It almost seemed more of a comment on REM than Death Cab, but that's okay, we get the point.

Here's some promo info I got from them:

Death Cab For Cutie's new album, titled Plans, will be in stores August 30th. Plans was once again produced, engineered, and mixed by DCFC's very own Chris Walla and contains 11 songs (see track listing below). The first single is "Soul Meets Body," and guess what? You can stream it this very minute by visiting www.myspace.com/deathcabforcutie!.

Death Cab are playing select shows in the US and Japan this summer and will embark on a full scale national tour in October. Be sure to check www.deathcabforcutie.com for updates.
