Robbie's New Album

So what are the chances he'll be coming to the US on the "World" tour? Probably zero... dammit. American's just don't know a cheesy-good thing when it sees it (hello, where's Kylie??). Good thing I took my chance to see him back in 1999, at the 9:30 Club in DC!

Details emerge on Robbie Williams album, world tour

The star planning an October return.

Robbie Williams is set to release a new album this October, titled 'Intensive Care'.

The pop star will follow-up on his lukewarm 2002 effort 'Escapology', with a full scale assault on the charts - backed with a high profile series of tour dates, starting in the UK, before shows across Europe, Asia and Australia - reports the Sun newspaper.

"Robbie is planning a massive assault on the charts and the tour will be his biggest ever," an unnamed source revealed to the paper.

"He's been out of the picture working on his album and can't wait to get out there and perform his new material. He will go all around the world with the Intensive Care tour but is planning to kick it all off in Britain."

The tour will reportedly take in football stadiums across the UK, before heading out to arenas in Europe and across the world in the New Year.

Williams' fortunes have been mixed as of late. Despite signing a huge deal with EMI Records, 'Escapology', his first album not fully co-written with Guy Chambers, didn't follow the success of previous solo efforts, and 2004's 'Greatest Hits' spawned the distinctly un-radio friendly hit 'Radio'.

However, his recent show-stopping appearance at Live 8 [review: Live 8 - Hyde Park, London], proved his fanbase is very much undiminished.
