LOGO's NewNowNext Review...

This week's list . A little disappointing this week. Not much new noteworthy stuff, and some poor choices of repeats.

Rufus Wainwright - Rules and Regulations

I haven't been spending as much time with the new Rufus album as I would have expected. But from what I know of it, this is one of my least favorite tracks. It's a little slow and drab, which Rufus usually pulls off flawlessly. But as with most of his albums, there's an incubation period until I really start to like it. I'm only posting this video because it's the only other decent one worth showing. :)

Gym Class Heroes - Clothes Off

Eh. I really liked their previous track, Cupid's Chokehold... This song sampling "We Don't Have To Take Our Clothes Off' is a relatively fun, but what's with the furries (NSFW)? :)

Kanye West - Stronger

Eh. C'mon LOGO, let's get with some of the better, non-Top 40 stuff.

Fujiya & Miyagi - Ankle Injuries

Now this was more like it. This is one of D's favorite songs, though it's different than the version we've been listening to. I'll have to see what the difference is. These guys will be coming to Cleveland on the Thursday before we travel to Chicago to see them as part of the Pitchfork Music Festival.

Josh Zuckerman - Something Inside

Josh was the in-between interviewee on this episode. I knew I wouldn't like him early on, when he said he likes listening to "what's out there... like Sheryl Crow, Tim McGraw, and Bon Jovi." Danger. And this video and song was actually worse than I expected. D asked how many people he had to blow to get this video on air.

Interpol - The Heinrich Maneuver

Having seen them in concert, and really enjoying it, I had high expectations for this new song. But at first experience, I'm have to say I'm not impressed. Maybe it's because it's been 3 years since their last release, and it's their first album on a major label. But I'll wait to hold ultimate judgement until I hear the whole album.

The Noisettes - Scratch Your Name

I've heard two references to the Noisettes having a hot lead woman. I think this may be all they have going for them.

Hilary Duff - Stranger

Repeat from 2 weeks ago (shouldn't have been).

The Automatic Automatic - Monster

Repeat from 3 weeks ago. This song/video is looking much more appealing after some of the crap they showed this week. :)

Mark Ronson - Stop Me

Repeat from last week.
