Old Crow Medicine Show (10/19/05)

I owe John big for this show. He was in town and had plans to see Old Crow Medicine Show in concert... I hadn't heard of them, and I already had plans to go to my first Weblogger Meetup. Luckily John was convincing in his praise of this band, so I decided to join him. The band ended up deserving every ounce of praise, and then some. On stage was 5 young awkwardly cute/nerdy alt-folk guys and they busted out the best red-hot bluegrass I have ever heard.

The crowd was just as on fire as the band. This was quickly turning out to be one of the best shows I have ever seen at the Beachland. The show was sprinkled with surprises, such as the one of the many (many) instruments on stage broke a string so the whole band stood on stage for a smoke break. At another point, one of the concert goers drank their limit and then "overflowed" onto the floor. These were all part of the ambiance and magic of night of racuous hilbilly jamming.

Check them out for an AMAZING stage show and probably one of the best nights of live music you'll ever experience... Seriously.

While I'd recommend just about every song on the album - this one is my favorite:

Big Time In the Jungle:
